Neighbourhood Policing Team tackle speeding in Bushey |
||
|
Local officers have recently carried out an operation in Bushey, targeting drivers exceeding the speed limits.
Following an increase in reports of speeding on Park Avenue, neighbourhood officers from Bushey and Radlett carried out an enforcement operation in the area. During the operation, 16 vehicles were stopped for excess speed, and two drivers were issued with traffic offence reports after being recorded travelling between 38mph and 41mph in a 30mph zone.
PC Luke Hinchliffe, from the Bushey and Radlett Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “This operation was carried out in response to reports from the local community about speeding on Park Avenue.
“I am pleased to say that the majority of vehicles who passed the enforcement zone, did so while sticking to the speed limit. We had positive conversations with those who were not, while just two were issued traffic offence reports for driving significantly over the limit.
"We will continue to listen to concerns raised by residents and take action where needed.
"Speed limits are there for a reason. Excessive speed increases the risk of collisions and can have devastating consequences for everyone using our roads. We would urge all drivers to slow down and help us keep Bushey's roads safe."
Please remember to stick to the speed limit and be mindful of pedestrians and families, particularly at busy times. Slowing down could save a life.
